By any estimation, Brett Simpson had an extraordinary 2010 WQS season. With a string of strong finishes throughout the year, including a win for the largest prize in pro surfing history at the U.S. Open in Huntington, Simpson made a career milestone by qualifying for the newly streamlined Dream Tour. But how does the competitive success of someone who surfs as well as Simpson relate to the more average talents among us? In a sustained, three-year effort, Simpson focused on his equipment and technique to propel himself to the world surfing stage. His achievements are largely the result of his own hard work, naturally, but equally important have been the efforts of a man in his late 50s, working away at a modest board-building operation in San Clemente. Brett Simpson Makes 2010 WCT
Congratulations to Brett Simpson for qualifying for the 2010 WCT! Simpo’s long year of hard work and dedication paid off, finishing 10th overall on the WQS ratings with the highlight of course being his $100,000 US Open victory in front of his home crowd. Kieran Horn and Brett Simpson are onto the round of 16 at the O’neill Coldwater Classic in bombing Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz. Watch it live.
Simpo Wins First Round Heat at Hurley Lowers Pro

Brett Simpson took down Taj Burrow and Dean Morrision to advance to the 3rd round at the Hurley Lowers Pro. Brett nailed a couple big moves to drop a couple 7’s in tricky northwest swell conditions at Lower Trestles. In Round 3, Simpo will go against 9-time world champ Kelly Slater.

Brett Simpson Wins US Open!

Brett Simpson defeats Mick Fanning to win $100,000 at the US Open of Surfing! Brett was riding his magic thumbtail S-Series "Workhorse" model to win in front of his home crowd! The win pushes him up to 5th place on the WQS rankings. Congrats from SuperStix Surfboards! (more…)

Brett Rips it to the Quarters in Brazil
Brett Simpson ripped his way to a solid 5th place finish at the Coca Cola Saquarema Pro, Brazil. The result places him 9th on the WQS ratings going into the US OPEN. Go Simpo!
